Jay’s Christmas Thoughts for 2016

It is Christmas time again and because I was quite sick this year (I am finally well again thank you although mum was scared) this year seems more special somehow. So I have been thinking about my take on a few Christmassy things.

A Christmas Carol

Why talk about Christmas Past and Christmases still to come. As a cat I always live in the present and it seems to me people would be much better off at Christmas if they did the same thing – live in the moment, in fact all the glorious moments.

Santa Claws

Yes I realize that it is really Santa Claus. Either way I am open to presents from either one (hint to mum)

It’s A Wonderful Life

Well, duh. I don’t need a whole movie to tell me that. I just have to look at mum.

It is A Wonderful Life

I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas

Don’t get me started on the subject of snow. Just check out my video below. Let’s just say mum loves the white stuff and I definitely do not.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

I find this song totally offensive because cats are not mentioned anywhere (why not 10 cats a-purring?). What’s up with that? Anyone who has looked at the history of cats knows what important roles we have played throughout time. Instead they have pipers piping and lords-a-leaping! How silly.

Anyway I have my own personal list for the Twelve Days of Christmas

On the 12th day of Christmas, my true mum gave to me

12 treats for eating

11 naps by fires

10 hugs from mum

9 tummy rubs

8 walks outside

7 birds at windows

6 friends who visit

5 Golden toys

4 Chews of grass

3 catnip balls

2 special rugs

And a cat condo instead of a tree

– although our trees are always pretty.

Hold on to all your traditions – and each other.

I love Jay’s 12 days of Christmas and I totally agree with everything else he said. Lords a leaping….meh.

Cats rule Vennie. Thanks for stopping by and a special rub to your new baby. Merry Christmas from Jay and I.

Excellent video! Sam agrees … snow is no place for little cat feet. Sam and I approve your most excellent feline version of The Twelve Days of Christmas. May all your wishes come true, Jay … and your Mum’s, too! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from your friends Cheryl & Sam.

I am so pleased you enjoyed my video and blog. Why mum keeps insisting I go out into the snow I don’t know. I know my breed is supposed to be built for winter but I will stick with a bright Summer day with lots of grass to eat. Merry Christmas and a special butt from me to Sam.

Well, Jay, I think you’ve come up with the perfect holiday hit! There’s definitely a major (and inexcusable) gap in the market for cat carols. I’m with you when it comes to snow, though I might just brave the cold if I looked as gorgeous as you do against a snowy backdrop! I hope you and your mum share many wonderful moments this holiday season.

Hi Seema. I am so glad to hear that you agree with me about cat carols at Christmas. I would agree with you about how gorgeous I look in the snow but mum says I need to be humble about my looks. I wish I liked the snow for mum’s sake but I hate the way it feels under my paws. We both wish you a wonderful holiday season.

It’s A Wonderful Life is a fave film of mine, too!
Christmastime and decorations on trees and loving companionship are simply the best. FurryJay has my respect and affection.

Thank you Denise. I have felt for some time that something needed to be said about the Twelve Days of Christmas and mum finally agreed. We are indeed very lucky to have found each other in this crazy world. Merry Christmas to you and I hope you know you were one of the 6 friends to visit!
